HYROX Noida is listed for 15–17 January 2027 at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. If you've been thinking about your first HYROX, that gives you about 11 weeks. HYROX is tough, but it's built from simple movements, and you don't need to be an elite athlete to finish one.

How a HYROX race works
You run 1 km, complete a workout station, and repeat until you've done eight runs and eight stations. That's 8 km of running in total. The stations are usually in this order:
| # | Station | Distance or reps | What it tests |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | SkiErg | 1,000 m | Upper body and engine |
| 2 | Sled push | 50 m | Leg strength |
| 3 | Sled pull | 50 m | Back and grip |
| 4 | Burpee broad jumps | 80 m | Whole body |
| 5 | Rowing | 1,000 m | Pacing and engine |
| 6 | Farmer's carry | 200 m | Grip and core |
| 7 | Sandbag lunges | 100 m | Tired legs |
| 8 | Wall balls | 100 reps | Legs and shoulders |
Weights vary by division, and rules can change between seasons, so check the official rulebook before you race.
Which division should you choose?
- Relay: the friendliest way in. Each teammate shares the running and stations.
- Doubles: both of you run every kilometre, and you split the stations between you.
- Open solo: the standard challenge, and a good choice if you already train regularly.
- Pro solo: heavier loads, for experienced athletes.
With 11 weeks to go, most first-timers will enjoy Doubles or Relay more than a solo race.
Your 11-week plan
| Weeks | Dates | Focus | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–3 | 2–22 Nov | Foundation | Easy running, basic strength, learn each movement |
| 4–6 | 23 Nov–13 Dec | Combine | Run, then go straight into a station, and repeat |
| 7–9 | 14 Dec–3 Jan | Race practice | Half simulations, then one fuller practice race |
| 10 | 4–10 Jan | Taper | Keep some intensity, cut volume by about a third |
| 11 | 11–17 Jan | Race week | Short, easy sessions and plenty of sleep |
What a training week looks like
- Two runs: one easy, and one with 1 km repeats at a steady, controlled pace.
- Two strength sessions: squats, lunges, pushing, pulling and carrying.
- One hybrid session: alternate 1 km runs with a station or a gym alternative.
- Rest: at least one full day, and more if you're new to this kind of training.
No sled or SkiErg at your gym? Use heavy lunges, step-ups, resistance-band rows and battle-rope work. Then look for a gym with the right equipment, and try the real movements at least a few times before race day.
The biggest mistake: going out too fast
The first run feels easy because you're fresh. The sled push then raises your heart rate fast, and everything afterwards feels harder. Start your first two runs slower than you want to, and learn to run with tired legs. Your heart-rate zones can help you pace those early runs.
Recovery is what makes hybrid training work
HYROX training mixes hard running and heavy strength work, so fatigue builds up quickly. Sleep, food and rest days matter as much as the workouts.
- Watch your sleep during your heaviest weeks.
- Check resting heart rate and HRV trends. Several days in the wrong direction is a good reason to choose an easier session.
- Expect imperfect wrist data at stations. Heart-rate readings can lag during sleds and heavy gripping, so use effort and breathing too.
SynQ, our screenless fitness tracker, is being designed around this kind of recovery guidance. It hasn't launched yet, so it won't be on your wrist in Noida, but the habits work with any tracker or a simple training diary.
This week: run 1 km at an easy pace, do 20 squats, and repeat four times. Note how it feels. That's your starting point.
HYROX is intense and includes heavy pushing, pulling and lifting. If you have a heart condition, an injury or are new to exercise, speak to a doctor before you start, and ask a qualified coach to check your technique. Stop if you have chest pain, dizziness or unusual breathlessness.
